Remove locking catch. |
Remove circular return spring.
|
Pull out the central shaft. |
Take out the plate that has 3 small location lugs, this one can be fiddly. |
Remove the plate which looks like it has 5 teeth on it, something like tweezers or very small long nosed pliers will do.
|
Need to turn over seat lock and slide out the helmet lock shaft. |
The only thing left to do is to remove the cylinder lock, this lock I stripped down a couple of days before and has been cleaned and greased up, the brass tab may not look the same colour or be visible as will be covered in years of crap, but it will be there somewhere, carb cleaner sprayed inside should help.
|
The brass tab needs to be pushed in towards the centre of the cylinder with the key in the lock and then the cylinder can easily slide out by pulling with the key, if there is any resistance either the tab is not pushed in flush or lock not rotated to the correct position.
|
Every thing stripped and ready to paint, electroplate or just clean up. This one has been powder coated in metallic silver. |
Powder coated in cobalt candy over the top of the metallic silver. |
