Suzuki GT750 Rear Wheel Nut

Making the front and rear wheel nuts out of stainless steel, would have been a bit quicker to get something close to 27mm hexagonal bar, but haven't got any so made from a 38mm off cut.
Click the images below for full sized pictures most are sized around 1200 x 900

Suzuki GT750 rear wheel castle nutMachined a a step of 25mm dia and 6mm long, this will be where the slots for the split pin or 'R' clip will be.

Suzuki GT750 rear wheel castle nutUsing a 2mm slitting saw to machine the slots in the nut, the finished size of the slot is about 3.5mm

Suzuki GT750 rear wheel nutHad to machine the slots in about 5 cuts as the milling head is not too rigid and the slitting saw a only a buget one.

Suzuki GT750 rear wheel nutFinished machining the slots to 3.8mm wide.
