 Welded a 3mm thick piece of stainless steel plate to the bottom of the side stand. Any scratches will not rust the base of the stand.

 Used a dremel cutting disc to cut the grooves in the stainless plate to help prevent it slipping.

 Brake pedal shaft, cut off the original shaft and drilled a 10mm hole which this shaft fits into.
