Suzuki GT750 fork brace
This shows some of the setups involved in making my fork brace, took quite a few hours machining, which I could speed up a little if I make anymore.
Click the images below for full sized pictures most are around 1200 x 900
The clamps started out as 4 aluminium billets |
Facing of the two mating faces on the fork clamps, drilling and tap the 2 inner clamps while I drill and counter bore the outer two clamps ready for the allen bolts. |
One clamps bolted together and the other just needs de-burring before bolting together. |
Can just make out the heads of the M8 allen bolts, calculated the depth to go, so then machining the outside profile the cutter just misses the head. Fingers crossed |
Facing off the clamps, two halves bolted together in the vice. |

Not using the standard dust seals but trying a lower profiled set as they are long enough to pass through the fork brace and just fit in the end of the lower leg which will stop any moisture entering the fork bottom where the two clamps fit together, as there is often a small gap.
|
The bridge plate the Suzuki S is cut through but have several other designs which once I have fitted the brace I can make and test.
